Many of us are over the skinny jean and for good reason. As Sienna Miller and Kate Moss strut their stuff looking as sexy as could be, we all wanted a slice of their action. Most of us lived in our skinnies. Over the years jeans have changed significantly. In came the cropped, boot cut, barrel, high-rise, straight cut and our forever favourite the trusty 501's.
Trends in fashion are forever changing. I've never been interested in fashion trends but now I've had to sharpen up and get in on the action of what is happening with all these trends.
Our most asked question this season is whether skinny jeans are in or out of fashion. According to Parisian writer and creative consultant Camille Charriere skinny jeans look more rock 'n'roll and the boyfriend jean looks more elegant.
Personally, I'm always on for both rock 'n' roll and elegance. Trends don't interest me but Harper St isn't about me, it's about you. How good you look and feel in a piece regardless of the latest trend absolutely does interest me. I think if you have good legs that totally rock the skinny jean, then they will always be bang on-trend.
Our winter '21 collection features both the skinny jean and the slim boyfriend jean. From Italy we have our Inkolives Venezia Bianco Jean, Venezia Jean and S228 Jean. Designed by a team of artisans, creating an effortless yet quintessential everyday look. They are made with soft cotton and a hint of stretch, the designs are comfortable and fitted in all the right areas.
Our Jac + Mooki collection offers the Slim Boyfriend Jean in Stone Wash and Black Wash. Crafted from premium stretch denim, this elevated slim fit jean pairs effortlessly with any outfit and vibes our sense of cool.
Another one of our best sellers this season is our Junko Jean. The smooth fitted design conveys an easy urban edge. Ankle length with a medium stretch these super comfy jeans are available to shop in two colours.
Although all our jeans feature a good amount of stretch to suit those of us more interested in comfort than trends, it seems the skinny jean might still be on-trend after all.
